A three-pedal controller can feel like one portable interface, but the commands behind it remain local to each computer. Moving between Windows and macOS therefore works best when the physical meanings stay consistent while each profile sends the shortcut understood by that operating system and active application.

Separate the physical label from the software command
The left pedal might mean start voice input in both environments, yet the underlying shortcut need not be identical. Microsoft documents Windows voice typing, while Apple documents system keyboard shortcuts and ways to create app-specific shortcuts on a Mac. Treat those sources as instructions for each receiving environment. The pedal supplies the configured input; it does not replace either platform's voice service.
Begin with one operating system and one editor. Verify the native command from the keyboard, map it with the Stream Deck software, and note whether application focus changes the result. Repeat the same sequence on the other computer rather than copying assumptions. A browser editor may intercept a key combination that a desktop editor accepts, and a menu command can differ between versions.
Compatibility is a chain, not a badge

After that hardware-and-software check, the remaining chain includes the selected Stream Deck profile, the shortcut, operating-system permissions, the active text field, and the voice feature itself. Each link can be tested independently, which is more useful than a universal compatible-or-incompatible label.
For a cross-platform routine, keep a small mapping sheet: physical position, Windows command, Mac command, and tested applications. Consistent meanings reduce relearning, while platform-specific commands respect how each environment actually works. This approach also makes failures legible; a working pedal press and a missing transcript point to different parts of the chain.
